Type of Executions
Starting from release 1.5, the NextflowWorkbench supports 3 different types of executions:
- Executions on the local machine. These executions may suffice for small workflows that do not require too much computational/storage capabilities. They are also useful for experiments, development and testing purposes as well.
- Executions on a Cloud cluster. These are ideal for single users or small teams with limited computational resources available and/or limited technical skills.
- Executions on a remote cluster. The remote submission may best fit if you have access to a Linux cluster with grid computing computer cluster software system (otherwise known as batch-queuing system) such as Oracle Grid Engine.
Each type of execution requires a different installation of additional software required to run or submit workflows.
